The spoon is not original to the mustard pot, but it is of the same time period and was made in 1852. The handle of the spoon is done in an Fiddle Shell pattern and the front has a crest of a winged dragon or griffin. The body of the pot and the lid are marked with the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a date letter bb for the year 1857 and a maker's mark for Charles Thomas Fox & George Fox. The body is also marked with the leopard's head for the city of London and a duty mark of the queen's head. The spoon also has a full set of English hallmarks.
This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. There is some surface wear to the body, but no major damages and no repairs.
