Brass Sword Belt Hanger -- 17th to 18th Century

Description

Very early brass piece. It has a beautiful design which could be English, Irish, or Scottish. Given its size and weight, I'm not sure if it is a clavet or a chatalaine hook as those tend to be a bit daintier.  It appears that at one time, the brass hook broke off and this piece was so important they had an iron hook attached in its place during its working life.
Really neat cut out design of a cross in a circle. The entire piece is reminiscent of a crown.
Probably dates to the late 17th century to mid 18th century.
Includes Riker case.
Measures 3 x 2 inches.
